Precious Memories
Precious memories unseen angels
Sent from somewhere to my soul
How they linger ever near me
And the sacred past unfold
Precious father loving mother
Fly across the lonely years
And old home scenes of my childhood
In fond memory appears
Precious memories how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness of the midnight
Precious sacred scenes unfold
In the stillness of the midnight
Echoes from the past I hear
Old time singing gladness bringing
From that lovely land somewhere
As I travel on life's pathway
Knowing not what the years may hold
As I ponder hope grows fonder
Precious memories flood my soul
Precious memories how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness of the midnight
Precious sacred scenes unfold
In the stillness of the midnight
Precious sacred scenes unfold
Beautiful old song... I miss my Daddy today.
Sent from somewhere to my soul
How they linger ever near me
And the sacred past unfold
Precious father loving mother
Fly across the lonely years
And old home scenes of my childhood
In fond memory appears
Precious memories how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness of the midnight
Precious sacred scenes unfold
In the stillness of the midnight
Echoes from the past I hear
Old time singing gladness bringing
From that lovely land somewhere
As I travel on life's pathway
Knowing not what the years may hold
As I ponder hope grows fonder
Precious memories flood my soul
Precious memories how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness of the midnight
Precious sacred scenes unfold
In the stillness of the midnight
Precious sacred scenes unfold
Beautiful old song... I miss my Daddy today.

Gina, reading through your entry today, I can hear my great grandmother singing in her kitchen while she fusses over Sunday dinner cooking on her old wood cook stove. She had an electric range, but claimed her beans and cornbread never cooked up just right on the new-fangled thing...Thanks for bringing up such a great memory for me...
Hugs for you today...I'm sure your Daddy is watching over you...

i miss pawpaw too... its not going to be the same going up there... but he's looking out for you and he loved you more than anything and the greatest compliment i have ever gotten was when he told me how wonderful i had turned out because i was just like my momma.
love you.
Ah, Gina. I've never even heard that song. Now I wanna hear the melody. I bet its "real purdy" as my Uncle John would say.
I'm sorry you miss your Daddy. But I smile at your sentiment, happy that you had a Daddy wonderful enough to miss so much.
